We are pleased to propose the above named training
programme to your establishment. It is with a view to
exposing the computer users in your establishment to
techniques for Computer Troubleshooting, Repairs and
Preventive Maintenance.
Evidence our track record of performance abounds.
We have provided consultancy and Management Information
System (MIS) training services to many organizations
including the World
Bank, UNDP, NNPC, Federal and State Government Agencies.
The Course has been tested and well received over the
years. NNPC and its subsidiaries sponsored their personnel
in five different batches for this course in 1998 &
1999. We ran this course in collaboration with University
of Ibadan Consultancy Service Unit in 1995 and 1996.
No technical experience is necessary to benefit from
this programme.
As part of the course materials, participants shall
be given Basic Tools for computer repair. These include
a set of screwdrivers, multimeter, soldering iron and
lead sucker.
RATIONALE
The course is a hands-on practical approach to learning
how PCs actually work and what to do when they don't
work. It is designed to demystify the inner workings
of the PC and to provide simple strategies for maintenance,
repair, and upgrade that everyone can use. The design
is such that the average PC user can provide on going
maintenance, upgrade and even fix a difficult problem
with basic tools.
To ensure that the systems operate flawlessly for
as long as possible, the government must take care of
the systems. This involves training of the computer
users on the modalities for performing simple maintenance
measures regularly. Obviously, a computer breakdown
can be very annoying because it interferes with your
work. Having trained computer users/managers with necessary
skill, aptitude and knowledge for locating errors and
carrying out repairs could be very useful. If its life
span is to be prolonged, then it is necessary to train
computer personnel on an effective system of repairs
and preventive maintenance.
This is the rationale for this course.
OBJECTIVES
This course is designed to expose participants to easy-to-follow
maintenance and repair procedures and a wide assortment
of inexpensive upgrade strategies. More specifically,
the course will enable the participants to:
* Understand computer components and over-all behavior
of a computer System from engineering stands point.
* Prevent common hardware failures with routine maintenance
* Acquire basic skills that introduce participants
to the procedure for Handling basic faults in computer
systems.
* Understand the meaning of error messages.
* Review vital software tools for optimizing computer
performance CONTENT
